Folders & tags

As your library grows, folders and tags keep uploads discoverable—both for people browsing and for narrowing lists before you search or chat.

Folders

Folders belong to your organization. You can create a top-level folder or place a new folder inside an existing one. To keep navigation predictable, nesting is limited to three levels (e.g. Engineering / APIs / v2).

Documents reference a single folder ID (or none). Moving between folders, if supported in your build, updates that reference without re-uploading the file—check the product UI for “move” or edit actions on the document detail page.

Tags

Tags are free-form labels (often comma-separated at upload). Use them for cross-cutting themes— deprecated, customer-acme, runbook—that do not fit a single folder hierarchy. Tags appear in lists and help humans scan results faster.

Filtering & views

The documents list typically supports folder chips or query parameters so you can view “only this folder” or search within a scope. Exact behavior follows the current app version; if something looks off, see Troubleshooting.
